We are very fortunate to have Martin Landau on site who is considered an actor's actor and has a vast range of experience both as actor and an acting teacher.
Marty started out in New York studying art and working for a newspaper. He then switched over to acting and studied at the famed "Actors Studio" with Lee Strasberg and Elia Kazan. After a strong career on the New York stage, he was brought to Hollywood by Alfred Hitchcock to star in "North by Northwest." He went on to star in the innovative T.V. show "Mission Impossible" and many films. He was nominated for Academy awards for his performances in "Tucker" and "Crimes and Misdemeanors" and won the Oscar for playing Bela Lugosi in Tim Burton's "Ed Wood." He has trained some of Hollywood's most important performers and is an executive director at the Actor's Studio in Los Angeles.
I had the pleasure of directing him in the film "Mistress" and I think you will find him (as I do) an articulate and perceptive person on the craft and art of acting he so beautifully practices.
I talked with Marty at his production company in Beverly Hills.
